De Leon Ministries ordination process

After you have become ordained through Universal Life Church, you will now be going through our ministry's process which will be a bit more complex than the ULC's ordination process, but trust us, it shouldn't be too hard! After your ULC ordination, we require that you send your Credentials of Ministry and Letter of Good Standing via e-mail to:

[email protected]

We require that these two documents are present on you for records. With them however, we need you to scan your documents and have them sent as files with .pdf at the end. An easy way to do this is to use the Google Docs app on a smartphone. To do this you will open the app and press the blue plus button + on the bottom right corner of the screen. Once at the menu press the camera button that says "scan". To scan your document by holding your phone above the document in a well lit area and press the blue button on the bottom. After the document was "scanned" press the check button and the document will be ready as a .pdf.

If this is too complicated, just photograph the documents with your phone or a digital camera and email them to our address.

Our principles

While we don't have a set doctrine because we believe in the clergy's autonomy, we do require that all our clergy has read affirmed the Bible and acknowledge our core principles. To know what they are, we have a book that explicitly explains what they are, and that is Rev. Dr. Nick De Leon's book The Gay Catechism: Explaining the LGBT Christian. To get a copy, all you have to do is have the Amazon Kindle app on your phone or tablet and purchase The Gay Catechism for only 99¢

Legal notice

Because we are headquartered in the state of Wisconsin, it is a violation of state law to discriminate against a job applicant because of an arrest or conviction record. Generally speaking, an employer may refuse to hire an applicant on the basis of a conviction only if the circumstances of the conviction substantially relate to the particular job, see Wisconsin Statute 111.335 and the Department of Workforce Development's Arrest and Conviction Records under the Law publication .

In short, we do run criminal background checks on our clergy during the application process to assure that they are of Good Standing in our ministry as long as they don't commit a crime that can be adverse the clergy's duties.
